Tee up on an historic Virginia course! The Omni Homestead Resort’s Old Course was completed in 1892 and is distinguished as home of the nation’s oldest first tee in continuous use. As the game has evolved over time, so too has the Old Course – updates by William S. Flynn and Rees Jones have kept pace with the times. Abundant fairway contouring gives most shots a side hill, uphill, or downhill lie to smallish greens, making approach shots interesting.

I participate in multiple golf tournament fund raisers each year in VA, MD, PA, & SC. I can say without any reservations that the VA SHRM State Conference Golf Tournament is by far my favorite event.
This event is always played on some of the best golf courses in VA! Plus, you have an additional opportunity at the State Conference to socialize/network with a new group of HR/business colleagues from all over the state of VA.
This event is not your typical high pressure golf tournament! It is a fund raiser for the VA SHRM State Council that brings together HR/business colleagues for a very casual & friendly round of golf! This event has more participation each year and should be considered by anyone attending the conference that wants a unique additional networking experience. In addition, there are always lots of prizes and you can sign up even if you don’t have a team.
I cannot say enough positive things about the VA SHRM State Conference Golf Tournament! It is always one of my top highlights at each State Conference. I strongly encourage those attending the State Conference to sign up for the Golf Tournament; I promise you will not be disappointed!
